Getting started
How do I create a trip?
Tap the + button on the main screen. Enter your destination, travel dates, and trip type (beach, business, camping, etc.). PackFam uses this information to generate smart packing suggestions.
How do I add family members?
Inside a trip, tap Add Traveler. Enter a name and age category (infant, toddler, child, teen, or adult). Each traveler gets their own packing checklist with age-appropriate suggestions.
How do suggestions work?
PackFam includes a curated database of packing items. When you create a trip, the app suggests items based on your destination, trip type, activities, traveler ages, and weather forecast. You can accept, dismiss, or add your own items at any time.
What are shared items?
Some items (sunscreen, first aid kit, chargers) are shared by the whole family rather than packed per person. These appear in a separate "Shared" section within your trip so you can assign who's packing them.
Free vs. Lifetime
What's included in the free version?
Everything. The free version includes every feature — smart suggestions, family members, weather integration, iCloud sync, CSV export. The only limits are:
- 1 active trip at a time
- 2 travelers per trip
There is no time limit, no ads, and no credit card required.
What does the $9.99 lifetime purchase unlock?
Unlimited trips and unlimited travelers per trip. That's it. There are no hidden tiers, no separate "pro" features, and no recurring charges. One payment, forever.
Can I get a refund?
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support.
iCloud sync
How does sync work?
PackFam syncs your data across all your Apple devices using iCloud. When you check off an item on your iPhone, it appears checked on your iPad (and vice versa). Sync happens automatically in the background.
Sync isn't working. What should I check?
- Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID on all devices
- Go to Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud and ensure iCloud Drive is enabled
- Check that PackFam has iCloud access enabled in your iCloud settings
- Ensure you have an internet connection — sync requires connectivity, but the app works offline
- Give it a moment — iCloud sync can take 5–60 seconds depending on network conditions
Can I share a trip with someone on a different Apple ID?
Yes. PackFam supports sharing trips with other Apple ID users via iCloud sharing invitations. You can invite your partner, family member, or travel companion to view and edit a shared trip.
Privacy
What data do you collect?
None. PackFam has zero analytics, zero tracking, and zero third-party SDKs. Your packing lists never leave your device and your personal iCloud account. Read our full privacy policy.
