Privacy Policy
This policy is short because we don't collect anything.
What we collect
Nothing. PackFam has zero analytics, zero tracking, and zero third-party SDKs. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. We don't know who you are, where you're going, or what you're packing.
Where your data lives
All of your packing lists, trips, and traveler information are stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, your data also syncs to your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit framework. This sync happens entirely between your devices and Apple's iCloud servers. PackFam has no backend server and never sees your data in transit or at rest.
Apple services we use
PackFam relies on three Apple-provided services. None of these send your personal information to us:
- Apple CloudKit (iCloud sync) — Syncs your packing data across your devices using your Apple ID. Apple manages the infrastructure; we never access your iCloud data.
- Apple WeatherKit — Fetches weather forecasts for your trip destination. The only data sent is the destination city name. No personal information is transmitted.
- Apple StoreKit (in-app purchases) — Handles all payment processing for the lifetime purchase. Apple manages billing, receipts, and refunds. We never see your payment information.
Account
PackFam does not require you to create an account. There is no signup, no login, no email collection, and no password. Your Apple ID is used solely by the operating system for iCloud sync and App Store purchases — PackFam never accesses or stores your Apple ID.
Children's privacy
PackFam is designed for families, including families with children. Because we collect no data from anyone, we also collect no data from children. Traveler names and ages entered in the app are stored only on the user's device and in their personal iCloud account.
Advertising
PackFam contains no advertising. We do not use ad networks, ad tracking, or advertising identifiers. Not now. Not ever.
Data export and deletion
You can export any packing list as a CSV file at any time from within the app. To delete your data, simply delete the app from your device. To remove iCloud data, manage your iCloud storage through your device's Settings app. We have no ability to access or delete your data because we never have it.
Data retention
Since your data never leaves your device and iCloud account, there is nothing for us to retain. If you stop using PackFam, your data remains yours — accessible on your device and in your iCloud account. Even if you use the free tier and never pay, your data is always accessible and exportable.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Given our architecture, it's hard to imagine what we'd need to change — but if we do, you'll know.
